About Library of The Chathams...
A part of the community since 1907 and a joint library since 1975, we strive to be the intellectual and social center of Chatham Borough and Chatham Township.
More than a place for books, we provide resources that support valuable opportunities to build knowledge, culture, and social experiences. We continually revamp our programs, processes, and policies with the goal of enriching the lives of our community members of all ages.
Library of the Chathams is part of the Main Library Alliance that includes 49 public libraries in Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, and Warren counties. We are also part of the Morris-Union Federation and Open Borrowing, giving you in-person borrowing privileges at over 100 public libraries in Northern and Central New Jersey.
Residents or taxpayers of Chatham Borough and Chatham Township, ages 5 and up, may register for a free library card in person or online. Out-of-county residents who are teachers or students in Chatham schools may be eligible to register for a full service library card. Out-of-county residents employed in the Chathams can apply for a courtesy card.
Your library card gives you access to not only the physical items in the library, but online resources as well. With our eBook platform, Libby, you can borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks, and digital magazines. You also gain access to databases such as Ancestry.com Library Edition, HeritageQuest, JSTOR, Artstor, Consumer Reports, Business Source Elite (EBSCO), Mango Languages, and so much more.
